However there is much more than just animals, why not let the kids burn off some energy in the many play areas that the zoo also has to offer. Within the grounds you can stroll around one of the beautiful award winning gardens, from the Andes garden, which gives you a feel of the mountains of South America, to the Roman garden that take you back in time. An exciting addition is the recently opened New Islands exhibition, which is a must see, along with the realm of the red ape that takes you to the forests of Indonesia to witness the orangutans and gibbons, along with many tropical birds. Chester Zoo has many exhibits to visit with rare and exotic animals to see, it makes for a jam-packed day of fun for the whole family.

Glebe Farm, Astbury
Glebe Farm near Congleton gives the kid’s hours of fun, they can use the indoor or outdoor play areas as well as taking part in arts and crafts, or playing on the toy tractors. Children can learn about the many different farm animals that live in the petting zoo. Refreshments are available in the on-site café, so why not treat the children to a locally produced Cheshire Farm Ice cream after a long day of playing and running about. All produce used in the café is also available in the shop, with much of what is stocked being produced locally.
