Cheshire Farm Chips

About Us

Four generations of the Jackson family have lived at the farm, which is famous for its ‘Cheshire New Potatoes’.

Paul Jackson was born and raised at Teuthill Farm based under Helsby Hill in Cheshire.  As a small boy Paul remembers seeing a queue of local people down the lane waiting to buy their freshly dug potatoes.  His father would dig the potatoes which were sold within minutes by his mother.  Although many things have changed at the farm, the family passion for growing fresh local potatoes for local people remains.

For friends and family visiting the farm, their homemade chips were legendry.  So fifteen years ago, Paul and his wife Wendy decided to start chipping their Cheshire potatoes and selling them to local pubs and restaurants.  Additive free, these farm chips look and taste like a traditional chip.  They were an instant success!

Since then the farm has significantly increased its production to meet demand – but the family still hand prepare their potatoes to ensure their Cheshire Farm Chips look and taste like a traditional fresh chip.

This year the farm picked up two major food awards.  ‘Cheshire Farm Chips’ won a prestigious ‘Food NW’ 2009 award.   They also received a ‘Buy Local’ Food award for an outstanding contribution to providing quality local food from the ‘Campaign to Protect Rural England’.

To this day the family remain dedicated to producing a fresh local product for local people.
